About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and The FASTER Scale App (“FASTER Scale”, “we”, “us”), powered by Genesis Process. By creating an account or using FASTER Scale you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.
If you use FASTER Scale on behalf of a residential recovery program, church, practice or other organization, you agree to these terms for that organization too, and you confirm you are allowed to.
What FASTER Scale is
FASTER Scale is a daily recovery check-in built on the seven-stage FASTER Scale from Genesis Process. You record where you are, see your history and trends, and — if you choose — share check-ins with a group led by a sponsor, mentor, counselor or program. Groups have chat. Programs and organizations get dashboards for the people they support.
The service is available on the web at my.fasterscale.app and as apps for iPhone and Android.
Who can use it
- 18 or older: you may create your own account and use FASTER Scale on your own.
- 13 to 17: only when a residential recovery program or organization responsible for your care has enrolled you and supervises your use.
- Under 13: FASTER Scale is not for you, and we do not knowingly allow accounts for children under 13.
You must also be able to enter into a binding agreement where you live.
Your account
- Give us accurate information and keep it current.
- One person per account. Do not share your password, and do not use anyone else’s account.
- Keep your password secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
- Do not choose a username that impersonates someone or is misleading.
- Programs applying for program pricing must complete nonprofit verification; we may ask for supporting documents.
Groups, leaders, programs and organizations
- Groups are invitation-only. A group’s leaders manage its membership and can remove anyone from it. You can leave any group at any time.
- What you share with a group is visible to that group. The Privacy Policy describes exactly who can see what.
- Leaders and program staff may use what members share only to support those members, must keep it confidential, and must follow any professional or legal duties that apply to them. Administrators are responsible for their staff’s use of the service.
- A program covers access for the clients in its care and pays for them. An organization may sponsor its members. If your program or organization ends your coverage or closes, you keep access for 14 days and can continue with your own subscription.
Acceptable use
FASTER Scale is a place for honesty and support. You may not:
- Harass, threaten, bully or shame anyone.
- Impersonate a person, program or organization.
- Send spam, or use groups to advertise or solicit.
- Post other people’s private or health information without their permission.
- Post content that is illegal, or that encourages others to harm themselves.
- Try to break, probe or overload our systems, scrape the service, or access it with automated tools.
If someone is behaving badly in a group you can report the message and block them from inside the app, tell your group leader (who can remove them), or contact support. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules — with notice when we can.
Your content
You own what you write. So that we can run the service, you give us permission to store, back up, display and transmit your content to the people and groups you share it with, to send the notifications you have asked for, and to show it back to you. This permission ends when your content is deleted, subject to the retention periods in the Privacy Policy. We claim no other rights to it.
You are responsible for what you post. We do not review everything, but we act on reports.
The FASTER Scale name, the FASTER Scale content and the app itself belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only as part of the service.
Subscriptions and billing
Individual plan
A subscription for one person, billed monthly or yearly. New accounts may be offered a free trial; if so, the trial length is shown at sign-up and no card is required until it ends. After any trial, you subscribe to keep using the app. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it.
Organization and program plans
Organization: a monthly base fee, plus a monthly charge for each member you sponsor. Residential Recovery Program: a monthly base fee, plus a monthly charge for each active client, after nonprofit verification. Leader and counselor seats are free. These plans are billed monthly based on the members and clients you actually cover.
Current prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout, and the price you see when you subscribe is the price you pay for that billing period.
How billing works
- All purchases and billing happen on the web at my.fasterscale.app, through Stripe. We never see your card number.
- The mobile apps do not sell anything. There are no purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play; the apps only show your subscription status and, where allowed, link you to the web to manage it.
- You can cancel at any time from Account → Subscription. Your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
- If an organization sponsors you while you have your own subscription, your plan stops renewing and the sponsorship takes over on the day your paid period ends. If the sponsorship later ends, you get a grace period and a heads-up before anything changes.
- If we change our prices, we will email you before the change applies to your next renewal.
Not a medical device. In an emergency, get help.
This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It is a self-monitoring tool for use alongside, not instead of, professional care. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (US) or your local emergency number.
Crisis alerts, leader notifications and the risk signal exist to help people support each other. They depend on people reading them; they can be delayed or missed, and they are not monitoring or an emergency service. Never rely on the app to summon help.
Ending your account
You can deactivate or delete your account at any time — see Delete your account. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the service; we will give you notice when we reasonably can. When an account is closed, the deletion process in the Privacy Policy applies. The parts of these terms that by their nature should survive — the content permission for data we still hold, the disclaimers and the limitation of liability — do survive.
Disclaimers
FASTER Scale is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that using it will produce any particular recovery outcome. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of FASTER Scale; and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. You are responsible for how you — and, if you act for one, your organization — use the service, including compliance with any professional confidentiality rules that apply to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use FASTER Scale after that means you accept the updated terms.
